Standalone / Self-Managed Casino Platforms
A standalone path runs under the operator's own license and exposes a PAM, back office or modules for direct operation or integration. The label does not prove self-hosting, source-code access, infrastructure control, data ownership or export rights; those depend on the exact product and contract. Every provider in this shortlist has a PAM plus a standalone, self-managed, API-first or modular delivery route.

What qualifies for this page
Included only when the supplier has a standalone PAM, platform, or operator-run module path under the customer's permission. A content feed or managed white-label route on its own does not qualify.
Standalone describes operational and integration scope. It does not establish on-premises deployment, source-code access, unrestricted APIs, data ownership, or a portable exit.

What to look for
Confirm you actually hold the operating license, not the vendor
A real standalone (PAM) setup runs under your own gaming license, so you control the brand and regulator relationship. Bank-account and player-data rights still depend on the contract. Some vendors market a tier as self-managed when the operator actually uses a third-party license wrapper. Ask point-blank who the regulator-facing license holder is.
Check API depth and documentation, not just that an API exists
Map API coverage function by function across players, wallet, bonuses, reporting, KYC, content and operations. Then verify authentication, idempotency, webhook delivery, rate limits, versioning, sandbox behavior and admin/API parity. An API-first label does not prove that every back-office action is exposed or that the documentation matches production.
Pin down player data ownership and export on exit in the contract
Standalone can increase direct operational access, but ownership and portability are still contract-defined. Require a clean machine-readable export if you leave, covering wallet, bonus, KYC, transaction, and audit history. Verify the export scope, format, cadence, and transition assistance before signing, not at the point of migration.
Map what you have to staff and operate yourself
Self-managed shifts the responsibilities excluded from the supplier scope to the operator, which can include payments, fraud, AML/KYC, bonus operations, infrastructure or support. The proposal may remove managed-service lines while adding staffing and third-party contracts. Map every owner and cost before comparing it with turnkey; the delivery label does not prove a lower platform or total fee.
Get the real pricing model and hosting terms in writing
Standalone pricing in our set is generally quote-only and the structure is not standardized. Ask whether the proposal uses fixed, usage, revenue-linked, setup, minimum, hosting, support, or per-module charges; which party controls the cloud account; and what triggers increases. Compare the same scope and volume rather than assuming the delivery label implies one fee model.
Frequently asked questions
What is a self-hosted casino platform?
Self-hosted should mean the contracted platform deployment runs in infrastructure the operator controls. It does not automatically include source-code rights, build tooling, deployable artifacts, API access or permission to modify the software. Establish each right separately, together with patching, observability, scaling, security, support and exit responsibilities. A vendor-hosted standalone instance or admin login is not self-hosting.
What does API-first mean for a casino platform?
API-first does not establish complete functional parity. Map which player, wallet, bonus, game, reporting and operational actions are exposed; which remain admin-only; and whether webhooks, versioning, limits, sandbox and support meet the proposed workflow. Source-code access, hosting control and data portability are separate contract rights.
Who owns the player data with a standalone casino platform?
The delivery label does not establish ownership, access, control, or portability. The contract and operating architecture do. Holding the licence does not itself guarantee a usable export. Require the exact scope, format, frequency, retention, post-termination access, assistance, and acceptance test for wallet balances, transaction history, bonus state, and KYC records.
When does a standalone casino platform make sense over turnkey or white label?
It can fit an operator that holds its own gaming license, has the team to run the functions excluded from the supplier scope, and needs direct integration or infrastructure control. Turnkey or white label can fit when more of the stack or operating workflow must be supplied, but neither label guarantees a faster launch. Compare the actual responsibilities, certifications, contract rights, implementation plan, and full-term economics.
Is a standalone platform cheaper than turnkey?
No market-wide price rule is established. Standalone may remove managed-service scope while adding operator staffing, integration, hosting, support, and compliance work. Proposals can combine fixed, usage, revenue-linked, minimum, and per-module charges. Run the complete operating model at the same scope and volume before treating either delivery label as cheaper.
